 RATING CLASS POLICY

Please note that you may play in your own rating section or one section up only.  For example, if you are officially rated 1500 (in the November 2019, US Chess Rating Supplement), then you may play in the U1600 or the U1800 only.  Those players who have won (1st place) in their section in a previous Cajun Chess tournament are not allowed to play in that section regardless of their current rating, but must play in the next section "up."  Unrated players may play in the U1600/Unr. or the Open Section only - if they pay the discounted Entry Fee and play in the U1600/Unr. section, they may only win 50% of the prize fund, or they may pay the full Entry Fee and play in the Open Section where they may win the full prize fund.
